"My screen hasn't died (knock on wood)" 2009-10-13
By D. Knight (Salt Lake City, Utah United States)
I'm slightly surprised at the reviewers saying their tv monitor died. I'm not doubting it though since GPX is generally very crappy brand as is Coby and Mintek (Mintek makes a terrible portable dvd player though that's another review) but I expected more trouble with the dvd player than a monitor since most lcd monitors are fairly hardy.

We bought our unit two years ago and we rarely use the dvd player. Some dvd's we had troubles getting to play but that was our only complaint so far. We ran a dtv signal into the tv so we could watch in the kitchen and also security cameras and that's what we use it for almost exclusively and so far the monitor has always worked. The sound is not the best but we expected that. The remote is difficult to read and use but we don't use it much anyway, it just sits there. The radio works alright, no complaints.

We were considering buying a second unit for another use but now after reading the reviews we're a little concerned and we're looking into the Audiovox.

"Has to upgrade to be garbage" 2009-03-17

Scratch this off your list for concideration. it's Junk. Functions marginal, screen goes black. remote does'nt work. Last GPX unit I'll ever concider. I'll go with-out first.

     "Do not buy!!!!!!!!" 2008-07-16
By S. Myers (Highland, Illinois, USA)
What a horrible piece of garbage. 4 months installed and the screen does not work. The radio and clock work, but from all the reviews i have seen, i am not the only one suffering the GPX curse.

    Stay away from this company.

"Good while it lasted, dies after a few months" 2008-03-12
By T. Bux (Barnesville, PA United States)
This was not a horrible product. I purchased it relatively cheaply. And for the price I got what it was worth. Picture quality was mediocre, sound was ok. FM reception was good, but AM was non existent.

It was decent as a second or third TV. For having something on in the kitchen while cooking dinner or doing housework, it did the trick.

But only after 4 months or so it died. Stopped working entirely, so because of that I cannot reccomend this product to others. Beware!!

    Amazon.com Product Description

Save space in your entertainment with the vividly colorful 27-inch Akai LCT2701TD LCD TV with integrated side slot-loading DVD player. It's ready to display high-definition television programming (480p, 720p, and 1080i) with an optional HD receiver or via an HD-capable cable/satellite set-top box. It can also be used as a PC monitor with a VGA input. The DVD player is compatible with DVD movie and CD audio discs as well as music mixes burned to CD-R/RW discs.

It features a 1366 x 768-pixel native resolution, 550 cd/m2 high brightness rating for a brilliant picture in any environment, and 1000:1 contrast ratio for an incredible picture with deeper blacks and brighter whites. It's also easily viewable from all around the room with its 176-degree viewing angle. It offers component video input for HD viewing as well as composite A/V and S-Video inputs. It also has a digital coaxial audio output, enabling you to run sound through a surround sound home theater system.

The LCT2701TD performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, too--a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture. The 2D comb filter separates chrominance (color) from luminance (brightness) information in the video signal for independent processing to improve picture resolution and minimize distortion.

    Tech Talk
Component Video Input: You'll get great picture reproduction from compatible DVD players or cable/satellite set-top boxes using the three-jack component video (Y/Pb/Pr) output, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections.

"Less than 24 months later and it won't turn on" 2009-05-22
    By Sasha (NYC, NY)
I was really happy with this purchase until about 4 months ago when it started taking longer and longer to turn on and required me to attempt to turn it on multiple times. Now, it's out of warranty and I'm pretty sure not worth paying to get fixed, so I'm down 500$, have to purchase a new television and not impressed at all.

"Does everything well, at great price." 2008-09-27
    By BigMutt (Mexico City)
Now that I've owned it for 1 1/2 years I can give a meaningful review, especially since I've bought two other LCD TVs during that time and have something to make comparisons.

Now I'm using it in my study as a monitor for my laptop, and sometimes still watch TV or play a DVD. It works great as a computer monitor: bright, accurate display.

The 3:2 pulldown feature is very handy when you have it connected to an up-converting DVD player and it's playing progressive-scan mode.

It has never given us a problem as a HD display for our DVDs and has enough controls to adjust and tweak it to look perfect. Seriously, it looks as good as our newer Samsung 47-inch 1080P LCD TV.

The blacks are perfectly black and the whites are bright white; too bright on some of the picture choices. The 550 brightness rating is higher than seen on most LCD tvs.

Never have heard any buzzing sounds, even when connected to our very sensitive home-theatre system. Obviously it sounds MUCH better when connected to external sound system, especially using the digital co-axial outputs.

The only complaint after 18 months of constant use is that the remote is pretty cheezy. The menus however are easy to use and intuitive.

If all my future hi-def TVs turn out to be as problem-free and thoroughly enjoyable, I'll feel very fortunate.

(note: I did not buy this as a refurb; many of the other opinions posted here are based on them buying a refurb unit. You're only buying someone else's reject, in my opinion)

     "Akai tv's are garbage!" 2008-03-09
    By Gina Nowicki (ny, ny)
I purchased an Akai LCD from Radio Shack, within 3 months the picture would black out - obviously some component overheating. Sent it in for repair under warranty. Two months later, they sent me back a totally different set with scratches all over the case. The remote was a Phillips universal that they had painted black over the name! The set is too large for a specific area that I purchased the original one for.

I emailed Akai 4 times and get only a generic response that says:

"Thank you for your inquiry. Your email will be answered as soon as possible.

If you want to order parts, please call 888-498-7278.

If you want to speak to a representative (customer service, tech support, or to request service), please call 866-278-5900.

Again, thank you for your business."

I contacted customer service and explained what had happened and told them that I wanted my original set back. They said they couldn't do anything about it, they would have to contact Akai to see what they could do. It's been over a week and I have not heard from Akai.

Do yourselves a favor and don't buy their garbage products backed up by NO customer service whatsoever!

     "So Far, So Good" 2007-06-09
    By George Gabriel (USA)
I am cheap and have been holding out for just the right deal. I find it difficult to justify 500.00 to 1,000.00 for a 27" LCD TV. The result is that I have been watching the same tube 19" tv in my bedroom for 15 years!

I found this on line as a reman for 369.00 at (...).

The sound is ok. Two speakers under the screen, not dolby 7.1, but ok for the bed room. The picture is great! I also love having a built in DVD player.

Are there better? I am sure there are, however at this price I could not find any. I have read in other user reviews that there is a static sound that comes up. I have found this occationally on the lower analog channels of comcast cable. I unplug the cable box and tv, plug them back in and the problem goes away. It seems to be channel specific. I had comcast out, however they can't find anything wrong. If I just unplug the tv, the problem stays. I do not think this is a tv problem.

    I recomend this tv if:

1-You do not mind factory reconditioned

    2-You want a combo tv/dvd

3-You are cheap and refuse to pay the inflated prices.

"DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT-BEWARE!!" 2006-10-17
    By Adrian Elias (USA)
We received the Akai 27 inch LCD TV, refurbished and paid $679.00. It was delivered defective with a loud buzzing noise. The product is not refundable & there is no "LIVE" person to speak with from Amazon. We were informed that we had to go through Akai for repair. We have made dozens of phone calls-It has been three weeks and no one has come to repair the TV- Never buy a refurbished TV and never purchase an Akai product. They make promises, will not let us talk to a supervisor or corporate headquarters. Awful!!

Toshiba 19HLV87 19" LCD HDTV and DVD Combo

    Amazon.com Product Description

Now you can play your entertainment library on one versatile machine. Since the 19HLV87 has both a DVD player and a 19-inch screen, you won't have to worry about connecting different electronic components in order to watch your favorite program. This convenience is matched only by its smart, stylish design.

    The Value of LCD TVs
Aside from their obvious aesthetic value, LCD TVs are much more practical in the home than CRT (tube-style) televisions. They take up a smaller footprint, and thus use up less floor space in the room. Also, LCD TVs are lighter and easier to move around when cleaning or redecorating. The 19HLV87 is only 3.5 inches deep and weighs less than 20 pounds. Best of all, LCD screens use less power than CRTs and plasma screens.

This screen also has a pixel resolution of 1440 x 900 -- which qualifies it to display 720p HDTV images. A built-in comb filter reduces digital artifacts produced by signal noise, making for more detailed images.

    Full-Featured DVD Player
The 19HLV87 includes an integrated DVD player compatible with several disc formats: DVD Video, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD and DVD-R. This player is also DivX home theater certified, which means it display popular Internet video formats, such as DivX, AVI, and MPEG4. Similarly, MP3 and WMA-encoded music files recorded to disc will play nicely.

An interesting feature of this player is Digital Picture Zoom, which allows you to select and magnify an area of either freeze-frame or motion video.

    Connections
The set has a built-in digital television tuner, so out of the box it can receive digital broadcast ATSC signals and QAM signals used by most digital cable providers. It also has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner, so it can also accept traditional analog signals. It is also capable of the following connections:

    • HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface): 1
    • ColorStream HD component video inputs: 1
    • S-video: 1
    • RF: 1
    • PC input: D-sub 15 with L/R audio
    • Digital audio out: 1 optical
    • Headphone jack: 1
    • RCA video inputs: 2 rear

    Audio
The 19HLV87's bottom-mount speakers deliver stereo sound, but for those with a 5.1 surround sound system, the 19HLV87 outputs Dolby Digital and dts digital audio from the DVD player through an optical port. A front headphone jack allows you to watch TV without disturbing those around you--perfect for late-night viewing. Toshiba's StableSound feature maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal. This is an extremely useful feature when transitioning between a quiet television program and a very loud commercial advertisement or when changing channels.

    What's in the Box

     "Good Camper TV" 2009-04-24

Love my Toshiba TV. Use it in my camper and it works great. Requires a little more juice than I'd prefer but does the job. Speakers seem a little weak when surroundings are loud like when it's raining and you're in a camper with canvas bunks.

"Locks up and must be unpluged to be reset" 2008-04-05
    By N. Shields
I purchased this unit for a guest room because my mother in law was coming to visit. By the time she came, it was past the 14 day return period for defective product. We only then found out that when changing channels, fast fowarding the CD etc. the unit would lock up and go to a black screen. You couldn't even turn it on or off. The controls on the set or the remote wouldn't work. If you unpluged it for 10 minutes, it would then work till it locked up again. As it was going to be a lot of trouble to send it to Toshiba to fix, I thought I could live with it. It got worse and I finally sent it back. Last night I went to Fedex to pick it up and it worked for a whole 10 minutes before locking up again. This time even unpluging it for over an hour didn't help. In total because it is in the guest room it probably doesn't have 20 hours total use on it.

I purchased it because I wanted a brand name that wouldn't give me trouble and Sony doesn't make small TVs any more. I paid $500. Even when it works the DVD sounds like it is tearing itself to bits and the controls take forever to do something after you push a button.

I now suspect that instead of getting a brand name TV I paid a brand name price for a third world junker with a brand name glued on to it.

It was so new when I got mine that there weren't any warnings on the internet. Now there are a lot of people that have the same problem I have and one guy says he has sent his back twice with no results!!!

"Nice dresser-top TV for the bedroom" 2008-02-28
By Diamond M. Dominguez (Los Angeles, Ca United States)
I bought this for the bedroom. I dont know why others are having problems with the built in DVD player, because mine works perfect and I've had no other mechanical problems. The TV is light-weight and does not take up a lot of space on the dresser which is why I bought it. I can easily move it aside when dusting the dresser. It's very good at picking up digital channels even with a regular antenna. I can only give it 4 stars for picture quality. When watching local channels you have to sit in front of the TV and look at the screen straight on. Otherwise,if you look at the screen from an angle, the colors & contrast seem faded. It is not the TV's fault, but the type of screen cover the manufacturer has put on the TV. However, when watching DVDs, the colors & picture clarity are AWESOME from any angle. I now enjoy watching DVD movies in bed. In summary, it serves it's purpose for watching TV in bed before I fall asleep and not taking up much room on the dresser. I would recommend it for the bedroom, the kitchen, or where space is limited. I would not recommend this for the living room.

     "tv/dvd" 2003-07-22
    By rosemary (Boston)
What a lifesaver!! I purchased this for our 10 hr drive to Canada. The kids loved it which made the drive so much better..I had originally purchased a small portable DVD player, but was so glad that I returned it and bought this instead. The carrying bag for the car is such a handy item, it fit nice and secure in my SUV. I'd recommend this for anyone taking a long trip in the car.

THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST INVESTMENT YET. WITH THREE CHILDREN WATCHING AT THE SAME TIME IT WAS PERFECT THE SMALLER DVD PLAYERS ARE REALLY JUST FOR TWO OR LESS WITH NOT MUCH SCREEN TO SEE. FROM CT TO VA WHAT A WAY TO GO. ONLY THING THAT IS WAS A LITTLE BULKY IN BETWEEN THE FRONT SEATS WE HAD THIS IN A SEDAN.

     "A nearly perfect portable TV/DVD" 2003-04-14
By Roy Chan (Long Beach, CA USA)
Pros: Perfect size for car, good looking design, every function you could want.

Cons: Picture not as sharp as any [] 13", remote too big, no DVD info display.

Summary: We just bought the Toshiba MD9DM1 9" TV []and think it's a great bargain what it can do. It fits perfectly between the two front seats of our minivan, but I did opt for a canvas type carry bag that makes it hold in place really well. Everything about it functions extremely well, and I really like the front AV inputs as well as the rear AV outputs. That's a super design plus because the inputs are great for game systems or watching video camera stuff, while the outputs allow me to hook the unit up to a larger TV, say at a hotel or something and watch DVDs where there is a bigger TV, but not a DVD player available. I also really like the car power adapter because it's got good length to it. It must be at least 8ft because I can plug it into to my van's rear AC output and the cord easily reaches the rear of the TV up between the front seats. Many such cords are 6 feet, and wouldn't allow this. I also like that this is a stereo unit, with a headphone jack in the front. I don't know of another such 9" TV that has all these conveniences in one, at this great price. The Toshiba MD9DM1 also has an appealing all silver cabinet that is sleek and modern looking.

As far as any complaints about it, they're minor for me. The picture is not as sharp as a 13" [] TV I have it outputted to right now as I write this watching a DVD, but that was expected a little due to it's size. Also the remote it came with is as big or bigger than any other remote I own, counting 2 other DVD players, and 3 other TVs so not sure why they couldn't have gone with a smaller design. And finally, I find that I miss being able to see the time and track details while viewing a DVD, since there is no display on the unit like you'd have on a standard DVD player. Maybe there's a way to call it up onscreen with the remote, but I havn't found it yet in the few days I've played with it.

A great TV/DVD combo for any portable need. Great design and functionality. It has everything from front AV inputs, rear AV outputs, headphone jack, long car AC cord, etc. Super!

"Great small unit, there's only one major problem..." 2003-03-01
By Joey Mercado (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
This is definitely a good unit; small, great digital sound, good screen size, with lot's of features (but no mute button on unit, nor on remote). However, you might be interested in buying this unit because of it's main feature, an integrated DVD player, right? But, here's the problem: sometimes it reads DVD's, sometimes it doesn't!!! My first unit, which was later replaced by Best Buy, constantly gave me an "Incorrect Disc" message on screen when trying to play certain DVD's. At first I thought, the lens might be dirty - those I cleaned with a professional lens cleaning DVD. When I popped in a DVD movie, Boom! same message on screen. Long story made short, the unit was replaced with a new one, but after about 100 hours of use, same annonying message. I thought ok, maybe it's not reading certain discs/movies correctly, but that's not the case. I watched "Ice Age" with my kids a few nights ago, and then last night I was just curious - I popped the...DVD in, crossed my fingers, pushed the Play button and there: them two annoying words again. Mind you, after about 10 trys, I gave up. I will put my unit to the test again tonight...

"A better deal than those extravagant tiny portable units!" 2002-12-03
By Strange-Trip (Alabaster, AL United States)
I purchased my first DVD player back in 1999. I knew it was only a matter of time before I purchased a unit that my kids (3 & 6 years old) could watch while driving vacation trips and so forth. For the last 5 years I have used a 9" TV/VCR combo while traveling on long trips in the car. Since we no longer buy VHS, I knew it was time to upgrade. I sincerely wanted one of those cool little portable units that can be used on airplanes, restaurants, at the beach, and... hey wait a minute! I don't fly that often. I go to a restaurant to eat! And at the beach... forget about it! I didn't see the need to spend ($$$$) for something I would use so little. Not to mention the fact that they appear very breakable and I've heard of skipping problems. On the other hand, this unit is AWESOME! This unit may be larger and heavier than those cool little overpriced units that have "Steal Me / Break Me" written all over them, but let me break down a few of the advantages.

    1. It's Cheaper.
    2. You can travel in your vehicle with it.
    3. It comes with a free car adapter (unlike smaller units).
    4. It's cable ready
    5. You can use it as a permanent TV/DVD player in your home.
(We use ours in the kitchen w/ cable)
    6. The audio/video quality is excellent.
    7. It's not as likely to be stolen or broken as a smaller unit.
    8. Headphone Jack (You can buy a splitter and use 2 headphones,
this makes for a peaceful drive with a 3 & 6 year old).
    9. It's a Toshiba
    10. It's Cheaper!

The only negative thing I have found about this player is the "Mute" button. If there's a "Mute" button on this thing, I haven't found it yet! Shop around for the best price on this unit. I managed to pick mine up for ($$$). Now you can't beat that. My neighbors and friends are envious. I have relatives who paid twice this much for a player and watch a DVD on a whopping 5" screen. If you have money to burn, buy the smaller more expensive portable unit, but if you have an average middle class kind of family like myself, check this out!

    By Dr. L. Ward
Do not buy this tv or other Magnavox products. We have had this TV for 4 months and it started malfunctioning. We called customer service, (Someone in the Philipines) who then told me the TV only has 3 months warranty!!!!! They could not trouble shoot and could not help me with a solution to a malfunctioning TV that is 4 months old.

     "Finally a well-integrated package" 2006-03-05
    By Frau Arsch
I have been waiting for a long time for a flatscreen with an integrated DVD player (one power cord, one remote, no mess), and this one was worth waiting for. It does not come with a wall-bracket, so you have to purchase one separately to mount it (or use the table-top stand it comes with instead).

I had to replace the first one (listen to the DVD player making funny sounds, sort of like a power wrench), but I guess that can happen, particularly since I was covered by the warranty.

    The real ca-hoona!

"Previous comment regarding sound is fixable!" 2009-10-19
By N. C. Haas (Orange County, CA United States)
Also picked up this model Toshiba from Costco. Sound was terrible. But with a quick call to Costco technician (yes, Costco has technical support) we were walked through a simple "fix." Works great now!

     "Toshiba sound quality" 2009-07-25
    By Name withheld (Portland, OR)
The only review on this TV does not reflect my experience. The TV has a great picture and the sound quality is certainly not bad - but more than adequate. I too purchase the TV at Costco and find it to be a great value.

"Beautiful Picture, Terrible Sound - Forget It" 2009-06-13
By James E. Carr (Leesburg, Virginia)
On impulse, I picked up a 19lv61k at Cosco at a cheap price and an automatic factory rebate. I intended to use it in my travel trailer. Got it home, and found the usual excellent Toshiba picture, but the volume was a disaster. Cranked all the way up (to "50") on the volume control, you could barely make out what people were saying from 3 feet away. The only way you can enjoy a movie is to put your face into the screen. I understand there are several similar Toshiba models (including the 19LV610U and 19LV611U) with a like volume problem. I thought I might simply bridge this problem with a cheap plug in speaker system, but read in the owner's manual you can only attach an analog sound system if you have the 26 inch model! Also, for a minor quibble, this is called a 19 inch tv, but it only measures out at 18 and one-half inches. My wife and I own other Toshiba TV's, and love each of them. Don't avoid Toshiba TV's, but do avoid this model. By the way, I ultimately bought a Sharp LC22DV27UT, which is the bomb, and as I update this on June 22, 2009, is on sale at a really nice price with free shipping at Amazon.

     "COBY WHO?" 2008-01-26
By Artie Thomson (Lakewood , NJ)
I received this 19in flat screen HdTV for Christmas from my children. So far its great. The picture is sweet and clear. It plays DVDs perfectly. If there was any thing to complain about it would be the cheap Atari like clicker. The buttons are very very small, and it has very little power. Also Coby has not given its acess codes to Cablevision so you cannot use just one clicker you have to use theirs to turn on the tv. They dont answer their phone or e-Mail and thats kind of scary. The sound without a reciever hookup leaves much to be desired...It is very low. The 5 watt speakers are not powerful enough on their own. But again the picture is crisp and clear so far so good..

"Worst TV mistake I made" 2009-10-08
By A. Collier (Brooklyn, NY USA)
Have had this set for about two years. The sound quality is horrible. I have to turn it up to the highest level most of the time and still can't hear everything especially if there is any thing else going on. What's the point of having the TV if you can't hear it while you are on an exercise machine or my son is playing on the floor.

Now, the picture turns off for no reason. The screen just goes black like you have turned it off. Not gray, black. Sometimes, it returns to normal after you switch the TV off and on about five times. The sound still stays on though. It drives my 3-year old son crazy especially if he is watching his favorite show.

Whatever you do, spend your money on something else. This TV is not worth the headache. Now if I can just remember if I had gotten the extended warranty.

"Major defect on this model" 2008-10-13
By D. Watson (Philadelphia, PA United States)
After six months of ownership, this TV began turning itself on randomly. The main circuit board was replaced. The TV still turns itself on. (However, the sound is now improved significantly!) We expect to have the TV replaced. No one seems to know why it turns itself on. The circuit board took four months to be delivered after the initial complaint. We were told the part was backordered. Maybe our complaint is a common one?

     "What Audio Problem?" 2008-08-06
    By G. Williams (New York)
I bought this set to hang on the kitchen wall. The convenience of a combined DVD was a major factor in the purchase decision. I'd read the reports criticizing the audio but decided to take a chance and buy it anyway - and I'm glad I did. The audio seems OK to me. Half-volume at 13' away across the other side of the kitchen is more than adequate. Audio quality is also fine. Anywhere near full volume is way too loud. I really don't know what the complaints are about - volume? audio quality? or both? The picture quality is also superb as is often the case with Sharp and the DVD is so user-friendly it's a pleasure to use.

     "Big dissappointment!" 2008-06-28
    By Ricki (Murfreesboro, TN USA)
This review is not for this model exactly but the LC-26AD22U which is the equivalent (I think) in the Aquos line. This is my seventh flat screen (LCD or plasma) that I have purchased and the 3 stars are for the picture quality, I took off 2 stars for the poor audio quality. After reading other reviews- I thought - that others might be asking too much from the audio section of a TV that for most it was not going to be the main TV (I bought it for my daughter's room), How bad could it be? .. well, this HDTV has (so far) the worst audio section of any TV I have owned (I have/had Samsung, Hitachi, Sylvania, Dynex, Westinghouse) It is incredible low, thin and "flat" sounding (words of my daughter and spouse). So my advice to others is that if you don't care about the audio quality because you will hook it to an audio system then go for it but if this is a stand alone HDTV and you want a good sounding one then you better skip the brand completely (and least in this size) and check others. I sincerely don't recommend it and I am going to return this one. Thanks for your attention.

"Cheap, easy sound workaround; Sharp LC-26DV22U" 2008-05-14
    By Gary Kniss (Topeka KS)
Sharp LC26DV22U 26-inch LCD TV with Built-In DVD Player I too was disgusted with the poor quality/quantity of sound from my new Sharp LC26DV22U TV. So, I pulled the back cover off the set and installed a female 1/8 inch stereo phone jack (Radio Shack part number; 274-0246). I wired it directly to the TV's speakers using bell-wire (from an old telephone cord). Then simply plugged in a PC sound system I had laying around. It works wonderfully and it was easy to do. Just use the wire diagram on the phone jack package and connect to the marked terminals on each speaker of the set. I didn't disconnect the set's speakers, so the TV will still work with or without the PC speaker system plugged in.

"Sweet unit at an excellent price" 2005-07-12
By W. K. Ferro (MD USA)
i'm delighted with this set. we watch a lot of dvd's, but still have quite a few vhs tapes in our collection as well. this unit bypasses the headache of connecting a vcr, dvd player, and tv. no need to set up a separate cd player in the room either, the dvd drive plays cd's & cdr's too. what's not to like?

the set has a nice crisp picture: some of our vhs tapes haven't looked this good in years. but we're even more impressed by the audio: in a small room, the surround sound feature is sweet and almost creates the aural illusion of a modest home theater setup. one word of caution: this set has more back end than people tend to associate with tv sets these days; you'll definitely want to compare its dimensions with your target space.

if you're looking for an all-in-one solution for a bedroom, small family room or den, you'd be hard-pressed to do better than this for the money.
